Let’s not forget about Brexit

  • Posted

Although the headlines continue to focus on COVID-19, we may soon need to cast our minds back a few months, and turn our attention to the corner of our desks and in-trays that are marked with the word “Brexit”.

While we have been working hard to adapt to a rapidly changing world, Brexit looms, and at the time of writing, the deadline for the UK Government to request an extension to the transition period (30 June 2020) has passed without any such request being made.

The transition period will now end in line with the Withdrawal Agreement, which is 31 December 2020.

With future proofing business on everyone’s mind, it is a good time to ensure contracts, particularly in place with EU member states, are “Brexit-Proof” and able to function after the transition period ends.
