Chosen Charity – SIA

  • Posted

We have decided that the Spinal Injuries Association will be our nominated charity for the next year.

Who are the Spinal Injuries Association?

The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) is the leading national user-led charity for spinal cord injured (SCI) people. Being a user led, they are well placed to understand the everyday needs of living with spinal cord injury and meet those needs by providing key services to share information and experiences, and to campaign for change ensuring each person can lead a full and active life. They support you from the moment your spinal cord injury happens, and for the rest of your life.

Why are we choosing it?

We have decided to become a corporate partner with SIA and we have been granted Silver Status and we are hoping to increase this to Gold over the coming months as our involvement with this worthwhile cause increases.

The reason for linking ourselves to this charity is because every eight hours someone in the UK is told that they will never walk again due to damage to their spinal cord. It could happen to any one of us, at any time, as a result of an accident or illness.
